The Old Pickle House in Kelso was a great value for money with comfortable rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. The central location was convenient and despite its downtown setting, it was still quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful, even returning a forgotten jacket by post.
The only breakfast option could have been improved with some salt and pepper provided.

The Old Pickle House in Kelso was an absolute delight to stay in! The room had a homey feel with lovely decor and a cozy bed that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. The two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath, were a luxury I thoroughly enjoyed as it meant no morning queues.
Personally, I found the wallpaper in the bathroom a bit outdated, but hey, everyone has different tastes, right?

Stayed at a cozy place with a shared lounge and free WiFi, so I could update my Instagram followers about the old, musty smell. Towels provided for an authentic damp experience.
The lack of elevator made me appreciate the extra exercise. How delightful to climb up the stairs with my oversized suitcase.
